Crossing of Duane

Zachary had a conversation at stage crew and Duane's name came up while talking about biking - did we know him and
shocking odd fact was divulged; Duane has done the Commerce Bank Five Boro tour several times
Middle of the night awakening, Duane could be the triathlon paddler for Kelsi
Recurring disbelief visions of Duane riding to the west end with a baseball cap and a pony tail
Duane called our house Sunday
I called Duane's house
Duane was licking his envelope and putting on a stamp to save $3.50
Plan to meet up with Duane at the
Commerce Bank Five Boro Tour in New York City
This afternoon I picked up Red Cross newsletter there was a picture of Duane getting a 12 gallon award.

Duane was the topic way too many times this week.

Why does this happen again and again with certain people in my life. I guess they are meant to be there.

Dewey in the back pocket!

Wishful thinking ...I get visions of instantaneous reflex action of grabbing one of these out of my jersey back pocket whenever an inconsiderate piece of transportation grazes me
the wrong way....schwing!

Petition to add BIKE THERE to Google Maps

There is an effort to get a map feature on GoogleMaps of "safe" bicycle routes called GoogleMapsBikeThere.org . Article in DirtRag - great mag but I let my subscription expire.
Sign your name to The Petition for a possible feature to Google Maps. It would be great if it shows "safe routes" or warnings. GoogleMaps can contain incorrect auto travel destination routes.
My concern is that Pennsylvania has designated BicyclePA Routes with signs along rural routes but are dangerous through Central PA. There are many miles of no berms around tight curves in which speeding vehicles & inconsiderate tractor trailers avoiding Interstate 80. Initiation by PennDOT should be orderd to make these areas safe for cyclists with berm consideration (often neglected - resurface roads with drop offs and a few inches of cinders) before signs are plastered up. Also, awareness needs to start with driver education in which one needs to pass a section geared towards awareness for cyclists, walkers or other road sharing factors. Aren't we suppose to try and live healthy lifestyles and seek alternative forms of transportation when possible - government contradiction!? Could this inspire "others" online to get on a bike for exercise or raise awareness?
